This is the first of two workshops, led by acclaimed FSU alumna, Dr. Leah Lowe, who is currently serving as Dean for the School of Theater at Vanderbilt University.

Session 1 - Workshops will focus on creating environment and character through physicality and vocal choices. We will work on scenes in small groups, focusing on ensemble performances. Workshop will address the range of ways performers can approach a Shakespeare scene— including practical and helpful starting places for adult performers in a wide range of experience levels.

Registrants are asked to draft responses to the following 3 questions, and submit them to leah.lowe@vanderbilt.edu

1. What are your biggest fears/challenges around performing Shakespeare?

2. What’s the most satisfying performance you have ever done and what made it so good?

3. What is one thing that you could take away from this workshop that would help you approach Macbeth (or any other Shakespeare play)?
